Coltraco’s Head of Marketing & Communications wishes to thank Olga and all those who organised this stimulating seminar which pivoted around the key question of whether digitalisation is an evolution or revolution for the shipping industry.
Official event information from Maritime London below.
Complimentary to the IMIF’s 42nd Annual Dinner, which is held this year in association with Maritime London, the seminar will focus on growing cooperation between e-commerce and logistics firms.
Speakers: Nicholas Berry, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright LLP; Julian Clark, Global Head of Shipping, Hill Dickinson LLP; James Johnston, Senior Dry Analyst, Braemar ACM; Søren Meyer, Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer Maersk Tankers
Referred to as ‘nothing short of revolutionary’ by a senior Maersk executive, which along with other major container shipping lines (CMA CGM and Evergreen) has teamed up with the Chinese online platform Alibaba to allow customers to reserve space on their vessels in early 2017. Almost simultaneously, BHP Billiton launched a new online auctioning platform, where shippers compete to transport the mining company’s commodities to its global customers, following the success of its first e-auction held in February this year.
